Laura Prangley

Laura Prangley has been developing and producing in the new media landscape for over a decade. In 2019 she founded Spirit Chair in which she creates originals (unscripted, scripted and podcasts) for rising voices. She was recently an Executive Producer on a female-driven prank show for Netflix. Prior to Spirit Chair, Laura worked as the Director of Development at Gunpowder & Sky, making long and short form content for MTV, YouTube Premium, LOL, go90 & Facebook Watch. She also produced over 200+ original digital videos at Condé Nast Entertainment and managed YouTube strategy and built audiences for iconic brands including Allure, Teen Vogue, Vanity Fair and Vogue. She thrives in both a major media company and startup culture. Laura was brought on to create live comedy programming and develop a brand voice as Meerkat/HouseParty’s Creative Strategy Director. Comedy is at her core. She was introduced to stand up comedy when she was 16 and has gone on to produce hundreds of shows in NY, LA & DC for the last 15 years including Laugh to Keep from Crying, Goodnight LA, Uncorked Comedy, Too Soon, and A Punchline Grows in Brooklyn & Hokies of Comedy. While in college at Virginia Tech she earned a NCAA scholarship for videography/editing. Her role included shooting/editing coaches video, directing live games and creating highlight reels & shooting for ESPN, YES Network & ACC Network.
